Hi, I’m J.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by anything electronic or mechanical. That same curiosity extended to war, strategy, and history. After spending more than a decade in the military and government agencies, I finally returned to my first love — computers.

I quickly discovered that the attacker mindset I developed in the military is incredibly valuable in cybersecurity. It helps me understand not just how modern threats work, but how attackers think. My personality is built for rabbit holes: when something catches my interest, I go deep. This blog is my way of cataloging and sharing both the interesting topics I explore and the real-world investigations I encounter daily as a cyber defender.
